LTO Implements New Policy to Address Complaints Against Deputized Agents

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has rolled out a new policy aimed at ensuring fairness and accountability among its Deputized Agents. Under this directive, any agent facing a formal complaint will have their deputation suspended while the case is reviewed. During the suspension, agents must surrender their Deputation ID and Temporary Operator’s Permit (TOP). If the complaint is validated, the agent’s authority will be permanently revoked; if not, their deputation will be reinstated.

What does this mean for drivers?

This policy provides greater protection for drivers against misconduct or abuse of authority by traffic enforcers. If you encounter improper treatment, you now have a clear process to file a complaint and expect action from the LTO.

Why should you care?

Knowing your rights as a driver is essential to avoiding unfair penalties. This policy fosters professionalism and transparency, making traffic law enforcement fairer and more reliable for everyone on the road.

What should you do?

If you believe you’ve been treated unfairly by an LTO Deputized Agent, file a formal complaint at your local LTO office. By reporting such incidents, you contribute to improving road safety and ensuring accountable traffic enforcement.
